Transfer Process for Current Full-Time Instructional Employees:
If you are currently a full-time teacher with M-DCPS looking for a new instructional position, please review and follow the Voluntary/Hardship Transfer process outlined in the M-DCPS/UTD Collective Bargaining Agreement. All instructional candidates must be eligible for a State of Florida teaching certificate and have a completed profile in TeacherMatch, a passing score on all parts of the General Knowledge Exam, and be highly qualified (passing subject area exam).

The candidate must have/be eligible for a Florida Teaching Certificate in Computer Science. Ideally the candidate will have strong preparation in STEM
fields (computer science) and should be skilled and qualified in technology, preferably within the identified theme (Geospatial Information Systems (GIS)).

The GIS strand at iTech is designed to provide students with coherent and rigorous content and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to
prepare for further education and careers. The GIS teacher will prepare students to use GIS technologies to solve real-world challenges. Students will
collect or assemble mathematical data (e.g. disaster services, transportation, environment and conservation, power management, telecommunications,
law enforcement, and healthcare) to solve problems/answer essential questions rooted in academic and real world concepts. The Environmental
Systems Research Institute (ESRI), a non-profit provider of GIS technologies will provide nine (9) on-site trainings on curriculum, software (ArcGIS
Desktop) and set-up. The GIS teacher will also be provided email support from two trainers throughout the year and will attend ESRIís Annual GIS
